Student Council

The Student Council is the student governing body and serves as a link between the students and the Executive Council. The Student Council is headed by the President and the General Secretaries and they are supported by the various Vice – Presidents and Secretaries in the areas of Cultural, Sports, Alumni, Placements, CSR, Media Relations and Hostel.

The members of the Student Council are elected by the students and it operates with the concept of “By the students, Of the students and For the students”. The student Council comprises of students from all the three Institutions under the IFIM Brand, IFIM Business School, IFIM College and IFIM Law School.

There are currently 20 members of the Student Council and student membership to the Council is purely based on an election held every year for the incoming batch. To be eligible to be a part of the Council, a student must have spent at least one term at IFIM and possess a good disciplinary record. Additionally, he/she must have minimum of 6.5 CGPA for PG and 60% (pass in all subjects for UG). The Executive Council appoints a faculty coordinator for student affairs to the Student Council who works as a facilitator and guide.

The objectives of the Student welfare are:

  • Address grievances/ suggestions of the students
  • Submit appropriate cases to ragging committee, wherever necessary
  • To encourage the students to get involved in meaningful activities
  • To enable the students to develop self-confidence and maturity by interacting with the outer world through various National and International Events
  • To provide a forum for students to learn, to interact with colleagues, to share expertise and develop/polish their hidden talents and become better individuals with a keen sense of responsibility
  • To ensure participation by students in fests, competitions etc managed and run by other well established and ranked institutions of the country
  • To manage and operate student events and fests such as IFIMahotsav, Aura, Kanyathon, Sports Day, Fresher's Party, Farewell Party etc
  • To manage the social media platform of the Institute by reporting activities occurring on campus on a regular basis
  • Conduct Corporate Social Responsibility activities, managed and operated by students of IFIM Business School
