Introduction & Objective
This Faculty Development Program (FDP) caters the research needs, from generating hypotheses to selection of research methods to data analyses that are necessary for any type of social science research. This programme is the right blend of fundamentals in research and statistics and Introduction to SEM, and also deals about theoretical understanding in mediation and moderation analysis. This workshop ensures the participants to have 100% practical approach and also it will make participants to have real time data experience on various statistical techniques especially Multivariate techniques.

Programme Content 10th and 11th April 2015

Day 1

  • From a 5-Decade Participation in Methodological and Analytic
  • Revolutions in Management and Social Research - illustrated through five cases
  • Brief Introduction about Philosophical foundations in RM and different Paradigms,
  • Role of Theory, Theoretical model and Measurements
  • Understanding Regression, Path Analysis and Latent Measures

Day 2

  • Introduction to Exploratory factor analysis - Theory and Application
  • Introduction of AMOS – Hands on exercises
  • Introduction to Confirmatory Factor Analysis - Theory and Application
  • Measurement Error: Reliability and Validity
  • SEM indices and reporting

Target Participants
The target audience of the programme includes research scholars from both academics and Industry, Business Decision makers, Customer Intelligence Managers, Research Consultants and Practitioners. For participating this programme audience does not required any pre requisite knowledge in statistics, however having basic statistics knowledge will be advantage.

Resource Person

Prof.Ramadhar Singh received his B.A. Hons (1965) and M. A. (1968) degrees in experimental psychology from the University of Bihar, Muzaffarpur, India, and M. S. (1972) and Ph. D. (1973) in social psychology from Purdue University, USA. During his career in India, he was a Lecturer at Patna Univeristy (1968-1973), an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1973-1979), and a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1979-1988). He moved to Singapore in 1988 and retired as a Professor of Psychology from the National University of Singapore in 2010. He spent his sabbatical leave at the University of Rochester and the University of Oxford during 2003-04 and at Purdue University during August through Decebmer 2008. Since July 2010, he has been a Distinguished Professor of Management at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

Singh's passion for research is evinced by his regular publications in prime international journals of applied, developmental, and socialpsychology. In recognition of his unusual and outstanding contributions to psychology, Singh was elected as a Fellow of the British Psychological Society (1992), American Psychological Association (1993), Association for Psychological Science (1993), Society of Personality and Social Psychology (1993), and Singapore Psychological Society (1993). In December 2013, the Association for Psychological Science included him among Faces and Minds of Psychological Science.In January 2014, he received the Sir J C Bose Memorial Awardfrom the Indian Science Monitor, Chennai.

Shankar M.M. did his MBA from University of Madras, he has 14 years of experience including Academics, Market Research companies and consultancy. He has been actively involved in Training and consultancy for the past 8 years. Trained more than 9,000 participants pan India in the subject of Research methodology and Statistical Package such as SPSS, SYSTAT, SAS, and AMOS, he published various articles in national level Journal. He enacting as Research consultant for Intouch Analytics, PPDA Ltd, NEN and various universities. Currently he is associating with CARES as Mentor - Research and Training
